If it was an automatic Rx8 they're considerably more slower than the manual ones. I don't know for sure without looking, but its something like 30hp I think. The manuals would put up more of a fight, but should still lose.

I'm glad I could be of service to you guys. Just to back up my claim though I decided to check to see the exact difference.

Automatic: 197 hp @ 7200 rpm 164 ft-lbs. @ 5000 rpm :raisehand
Manual: 238 hp @ 8500 rpm 159 ft-lbs. @ 5500 rpm :jack:

On a track I'm pretty sure it would run circles around a stock SRT-4 though. Good thing there's not cones on the streets!

I actually like the RX-8 a lot... the only reason I didnt buy one is all the complaints I heard about ultra-low gas mileage and the $10,000 price difference. It really is a night and day difference in refinement, though. If it got 22 MPG and not 12MPG I'd probably have one.

I test drove a manual(with no intenion of buying) and it chirped it into 3rd, but it still wasnt going very fast... i think it must have very bad traction and no weight in the back, cuz the average car wouldnt have chirped like it did at those speeds

The 2 rotor motor has a dirty little secret.....crap for torque. That's why you have to wind the heck outta it.
