i know this is jdp and lon territory so i thought i would get the ball rolling. since dj has somehow managed to get m&h to sponor our club i want to get a thread going about sizes.
i will start off with a question, i want to buy a wheel to match the enkei's i have that i can use for slicks. they make the wheel in a 15x6.5. what size slick should i use with that wheel? keep in mind im lowered about 2" or better. thanks.

dj seemed to think the 7.5/23.0-15 size is what i would need. does that sound right about right?

God no!
Get either the M&H 24.5 x 8.5 or the MT 24.5 x 8.0.
If your street tires are below your fender lip by a finger or two, you'll be just fine. The MT's may even fit right up in there if need be ... depends on your rims and the offset.

the rims are going to be 15x6.5 +38mm offset.
this pic might give you an idea of the fender gap:

You want a 24.5 X 8.5 X 15 slick as does 90% of the srt comunity. Vector and I will be going up to the taller 26" tire this year but we are making bigger power this year too. Plus you will need to have coil overs to fit the 26" tire.

so the 24.5x8.5 will fit on a 6.5" wide wheel ok?

thats what i told him at first, but he didn't like the idea of it rubbing even a little. he said he was just looking for soething better than drag radials.

Rubbing where? I do have to use a small spacer (about 1/4") or they'll rub against the strut, but it's not that bad.

The rubbing is only coming from when you turn sharp or going to fast. the side wall is very thin and flexes alot.

Could be rubbing on the bottem of the spring perch, when you hit the brakes and your car lurches forwward.
When I get new slicks, I will also be running a 26in tall tire

The lower spring perch is solidy mounted to the stearing knuckle meaning it does not move in relation to the tire.
